Breathing

I feel so exhausted. It seems that my mind, my body, my soul isn’t able anymore to rest, to calm down, to find relaxation. With the result that I feel like an active volcano!

So I recalled I installed this meditation app on my iPhone a year ago or so and that I even payed for it. So … why not using it?

I played a bit with the settings, visited the homepage to find better descriptions, tried the different bells and finally I created three presets for setting up my meditation practice. 10 minutes in the morning, 30 minutes in the evening and 9 minutes just breathing for stopping the business. I am a newbie to this kind of meditation so I thought that would be a great idea.

Just breathing.

I read in a little book that breathing can and should be enjoyable. That paying attention to my breathing is a way for my body to relax.

Breathing in, I am aware of the tension of my body. Breathing out, I release all the tension of my body.

Next thing I did was preparing my “breathing space” with a cushion and a candle … and then I pressed the “Start” button. I closed my eyes and I intended to be aware of my breathing.

Breathing in, I know I am breathing in. Breathing out, I know I am breathing out.

For 10 minutes I continued breathing with awareness and my breath became a bit deeper and slower.

For another 20 minutes I breathed to calm down my mind.

Breathing in, I calm my body. Breathing out, I smile. Breathing in, dwelling in the present moment. Breathing out, I know this is a wonderful moment.

Not as easy as I thought. All the noises on the street, in the house, in my head, even the candle … disturbed me (or better, I let them disturb me).

To be honest, I wasn’t quite in it. After what felt like an eternity I thought maybe the phone went out? Maybe it is mute? I wanted to be patient, really. But I couldn’t help myself. I glanced at the timer and it said “2 minutes left”. What a shame.

Tomorrow is another day. Morning Meditation … 10 minutes breathing (just to feel as refreshed as the little book mentioned) 🙂

Have a nice evening, my dear friends. Sleep well and tight and when you wake up keep in mind to smile at first. Because there are another 24 brand-new hours before you. Promise yourself to live fully in each moment. Feelings may come and go like clouds on a windy day and that conscious breathing can be your anchor.

Sweet dreams

Namasté
